Underwood’s Auto Repairs is the latest company to move into Kingmoor Enterprise Zone’s multi million-pound N & R development. The company joins a fast-growing cluster of car related businesses choosing Kingmoor Park as their base.

The company was started by Scott Underwood in 2011.  Initially he treated it almost like a hobby repairing cars. Scott also worked part time as a mechanic on Kingstown Industrial Estate.  In 2012 Scott decided to take it to the next level and became self employed and renting a unit at High Hesket.  Since then Scott has gone from repairing 1 -2 cars a week to having a 2-3-week lead time.

Scott’s speciality is Japanese performances cars and custom performance cars.  Underwoods is also the only company in Carlisle that specializes in custom stainless-steel exhausts, cylinder head machining, and custom dyno tuning.

Underwood’s Auto Repairs has now officially opened for business and are welcoming customers for the first time to their new tailor-made premises.

Scott Underwood comments:

“We have chosen to move to Kingmoor so that we can continue growing our business.  In the past few years we have started getting customers from South West Scotland, Lancashire and Preston.  Being close to junction 44 is key”.

Neil McIntyre, Kingmoor Park’s Managing Director said:

“We created the N & R development of 19 new units of various sizes for business people like Scott so that they can have the space to grow in an ideal location adjacent to the M6.  This coupled with the financial benefits of being located on our Enterprise Zone provides added support and confidence to take that next step in setting up or growing your company.

“We have seen a surge in interest for these new units. The development has 19 units from 1,550sqft to 4,360sqft.  We have 4 of these now let and a further 5 under offer”.

These new units, which have been funded by Kingmoor Park Properties Ltd and European Regional Development Funding are situated on Kingmoor Park Central, meaning occupiers have access to Enterprise Zone benefits as well as excellent transport links to the A689 (W) and M6 motorway.
