Carlisle based NXT Recruitment have become the first occupier to move in at Kingmoor Park’s ModVillage development.

The development is a first of its kind for Cumbria and provides office space from recycled shipping containers making it ideal for businesses who would like their own front door or to increase their presence away from shared office space. There is already over 6,200sqft on site most of which is now under offer with a further 3,400sqft due to arrive.

The containers which are made from Corten Steel, each weighing 6.5 tonnes, can be remodelled to a bespoke specification with external cladding, windows, doors, insulation, and internal fit out.

NXT Recruitment recently completed their move and now occupy 1080sqft of space which compromises of a large open-plan office for their team, reception/waiting room, interview room and a kitchen. They’ve also taken on an additional space, which has been transformed into a meeting area complete with its own kitchen and facilities. The secondary space, known as ‘The Business Lounge’ will soon be available for hire. Commenting on their new premises, Director Jason Hodgson said;

“We had been on the lookout for new premises that could accommodate our current and future growth plans but also something we could make our own. The ModVillage offices have made us more visible and will provide even better surroundings for our clients and candidates when we can finally meet them again. This last year has been a challenge for many businesses but we feel fortunate that we have continued to grow. I think it’s important to stay positive and moving into new premises has been a great motivator for us to keep pushing on.”

Despite an uncertain year, 2020 saw the addition of a further six containers at the ModVillage development. Speaking on this Kingmoor Park’s Managing Director, Neil McIntyre said;

“The concept of ModVillage was to give local, ambitious companies a modern space that they could stamp their own identity on and use as a platform for further growth. NXT Recruitment are exactly the type of forward thinking, ambitious company we hoped the development would appeal to and it’s great to see how they’ve made it a truly unique and inspiring space for staff and clients alike.”

ModVillage has been architecturally designed by Prospus Group who are also managing the project as it develops. Prospus Director, Alistair Fell commented;

“It is fantastic to be working with the team at Kingmoor Park to develop Cumbria’s first shipping container business village and we’re excited to see the development grow into the future.”
