The Medical Records team of the North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust are vacating their current Port Road Industrial Estate premises and moving into a newly refurbished 20,193sqft warehouse on Kingmoor Park North.

The team’s new building is three times the size of their previous Port Rd premises to cater for an expansion and consolidation of their record storing needs. They have taken a long term lease of the building, which was previously occupied by City Link who went into administration in December 2014. Richard Percival of Carigiet Cowen acted on behalf of Kingmoor Park Properties in negotiating the new lease.

Commenting on Kingmoor Park’s new tenant Ross Nicolson, Estates Director, said

“I am delighted that we were able to cater for the long term needs of the Medical Records team. The warehouse has been refurbished to create a modern day storage facility with the flexibility of additional expansion if needed in the future. The suitable storage of these records is a vital component of patient care and we were very happy to carry out over £50,000 of refurbishment work to the building before handing it over to the Records team who can now oversee more specific additions to meet their needs. The location of the new warehouse also gives easy access to the CNDR for quick transportation of records to and from the Cumberland Infirmary”.
