JOBS BOOST AS PARCEL FIRM OPENS CARLISLE DEPOT
DPD is the business-to-business delivery arm of GeoPost UK, which also owns the Interlink parcel courier service.
The firm delivers mainly to companies in the telecommunications, entertainment and retail sectors.
The deal is a another coup for Kingmoor Park, which has so far sidestepped the worst of the credit crunch to continue its rapid growth.
Bosses revealed a £50m expansion which will take the number of people employed at the site to 5,000 by 2028.
Tony Goddard, chief executive of Kingmoor Park, said: DPD prides itself on being at the heart of the UK’s transport network and it is fitting that they have chosen to relocate to our site, near to junction 44 of the M6. We have always said that Kingmoor Park’s location was a winner and this latest signing is proof of that.
